POSTER PRESENTATIONS

Call for poster proposals

Graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, research professionals, researchers and industrial R&D specialists are invited to submit, by August 10, 2018, a poster abstract presenting their research results associated with nutrition, health food and ingredients. This poster will be presented during BÉNÉFIQ 2018, an international conference that will take place on October 2-4, 2018 at the Quebec City Convention Centre.

In addition, a poster excellence contest is open to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows giving the opportunity to stand out and to be awarded with one of three bursaries or the Audience award. Details and instructions may be found below. The Award Ceremony will be held on October 3 at 5:30 pm.

The deadline for submitting your abstract is August 10, 2018.

  • You will receive an email confirming the acceptation of your participation before August 24th .
  • To participate, it is mandatory to proceed with your registration to BENEFIQ 2018 before September 7th.
  • All poster presenters must register for the conference.

 

ABSTRACT – INSTRUCTIONS

Please note: Abstract that do not meet the following requirements may be declined.

  • The abstract must be submitted by the author who presents the poster
  • The summary must include a maximum of 350 words (excluding title and authors name) and following items:
    • Introduction
    • Objective(s)
    • Methodology
    • Results
    • Conclusion
  • You are not allowed to insert tables and/or figures in this abstract
  • The abstract may be written in French or in English
  • You must use the form provided at the bottom of this page

POSTER – INSTRUCTIONS

  • Poster size: 90 cm (3 ft.) x 120 cm (4 ft.), landscape or portrait format. English language is preferred but not mandatory
  • Poster boards will be displayed in the Innovation Hall (expo) at the Quebec City Convention Centre.
  • Poster setup may start on October 2 2018 between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm.
  • Poster sessions will take place during the afternoon break and the networking cocktail on October 2 and during breaks and lunch on October 3.
  • Presenters will be informed of the period they will be visited by the reviewers.
  • Posters may be removed after awards ceremony on October 3.

 

POSTER COMPETITION

Reserved to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows

  • Poster will be judged by reviewers recruited among academic and industry scientists.
  • Apart form the abstract, the reviewing process will be completed by an assessment on site.
  • Participants will be advised of the approximate time of the evaluation.
  • Poster presentation may be given in English or in French.

Evaluation criteria are the following:

Form (20 points)

·       Attractive presentation and easy to read

·       Well organized

·       Proper use of graphs

·       Correct use of colors

Contents (40 points)

·       Clear and attractive title

·       Clear introduction and context presentation

·       Clear rationale for the project

·       Hypothesis and objectives clearly stated

·       Relevant methods / experimental approaches

·       Experimental design (controls, replicates)

·       Logical presentation of results

·       Proper analysis of results

·       Conclusions well supported by results

·       Significance of results for the sector

Presentation on site (40 points)

·       Concise and clear presentation

·       Behaviour during review

·       Clear and concise explanation of work

·       Adequate answers to questions

·       Thorough understanding of the subject

 

IMPORTANT: You may not participate to the Green Food Tech contest if you wish to participate to BNENEFIQ’s contest. You must choose between one of the two events.
